Blanche was born on a farm near Hardy, Nebraska. She married Wilbur Bjorling and was a homemaker for 40 years before moving to Lincoln, Neb. There she worked as a practical nurse and was a leader in establishing state standards for the licensing of practical nurses. Later she worked as a special nurse for terminally ill patients. She was a former member of the Hardy Union Church and a member of the Methodist Church. She was a leader in 4-H clubs and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, both in Hardy. She was an organizer for the Hardy choral group, the Harmonettes. She was also a member of the Women's Club in Hardy and Lincoln.
